Week Seven | ENGL 1102

This week’s CRA is on “The Anti-Racist Revelations of Ibram X. Kendi” by David Montgomery (CRA5). I have posted signup messages for the four tasks in Slack. Please sign up for your work by the end of today.

On our call virtual call today, we will start with a discussion on the phased writing process and how to apply it to the blog cycle and image argument assignments. I’ll also give some answer some questions that I’ve seen about the collaborative bibliography assignment and how that connects to the others.

I’ll also be introducing two strategies that are useful for academic writers: resisting the binary and arguing from definition. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be introducing several strategies that assist in making a strong argument based on research.

Students in Collaborative Bibliography Group Three will be invited to a private channel for them to use in completing that assignment. Their due date will be revised to next Tuesday, March 2 to allow them a week to complete their work.

By the end of today I will have entered all of the process grades that we have compiled (CRAs, quizzes, and introductory tasks). If you see any errors in a grade that I have assigned to you, reach out via DM; I’ll be glad to look into it so that we can resolve your question.

I’ll close with some reminders on the use of proper nouns to everyone who has major assignments due next week. Please remember that with 48 hour notice, I can sometimes renegotiate a student’s due date on a major assignment, but I do not accept work that is submitted late without that discussion.
