Weeks Fourteen & Fifteen | ENGL 2145

I appreciate everyone being flexible for the classes I had to cancel last week, and I apologize for any inconvenience it caused anyone. We’ll be meeting for class today (Mon, 4/18) and for our remaining four classes. Here is our amended schedule:

Mon, 4/18: I will break the class up into four research groups. Discuss research and thesis development in these groups and then with the class. I’ll help two projects develop research strategies that balance attention on primary sources, secondary sources, sub-discipline, and organizational patterns. For the last 10/15 minutes of class, I will give a mini lecture on how to start building a digital project which will include these web domain resources and this design model. Everyone needs to decide by class time on Wednesday whether they will complete the research paper or the digital project. Research groups should share 1000 words of phase one or phase two writing with each other on

Wed, 4/20: Small groups A and B will meet with me for 20 mins each in the classroom (Group A: 11:15; Group B: 11:45). Each group should bring 8-10 questions to the meeting along with access to current drafts.

Mon, 4/25: Small groups C and D will meet with me for 20 mins each in the classroom (Group C: 11:15; Group D: 11:45). Each group should bring 8-10 questions to the meeting along with access to current drafts. Be sure to look at the questions and answers from the week before that will be posted to Slack and avoid redundancies.

Wed, 4/27: I’ll lead a discussion on Phase Three editing for the class.

Mon, 5/2: No class meeting. Projects are due to D2L; short analysis essay revisions are due to Slack in the #short-analysis-papers channel. Be SURE to include the hashtag #revision if you are resubmitting for a grade.
