We will spend most of our class time this week unpacking the idea of ethics, computer ethics, and ethics related specifically to generative AI.
Readings, complete by Wed., 8/28.
“When A.I.’s Output Is a Threat to A.I. Itself” by Bhatia in NYT, 2024.
“Three Sleepless Nights” from the introduction to Co-Intelligence by Mollick, 2024
“Ethan Mollick On The Four Rules Of Co-Intelligence With AI” interview by High in Forbes, 2024.
Activities: Be sure to complete these in this specific order by Wed., 8/28.
- Do some phase one (brainstorm) writing on your trajectories of interest related to uses of genAI, ethical approaches to/concerns about genAI, and/or trends in genAI scholarship/thought. Be sure to collect links as you go.
- Spend some time on the KSU Digital Learning Initiative’s page of resources on genAI. Find something interesting for our discussion on Wednesday and generate some reflective writing.
- Fire up Microsoft Copilot (be sure to use your KSU login), and spend half an hour in conversation with it. Save the log. What did you find out?
For the weekend and next week: TBD
