WRIT 3152 Week Nine

We are wrapping up our two weeks of the Experiential Learning Assignment. That assignment is due this Friday, March 8. Please read the details of that assignment carefully, especially as it relates to completing and submitting the assignment (all of that happens in WordPress and has to do with how you title the post).

I will see everyone back on March 18 (for Monday students) and March 20 (for Wednesday students).

I will be assembling our content teams when we get back from Spring Break, so please do the following things to get ready for that:

  1. Content teams will consist of students serving in one of the following roles: Project Manager, Researcher, Content Developer (mostly: Writer), and Designer/Editor. Be thinking about which two of those roles you are the most interested to explore and be ready to submit those roles at the beginning of Week Eight. I’ll be making the teams and assigning roles, but I will be considering your input in those decisions.
  2. Content teams will have four (in some cases, three) students. Be thinking about two people whom you would like to work with and be ready to submit those names at the beginning of Week Eight. I’ll be making the teams and assigning roles, but I will be considering your input in those decisions.
  3. Content teams will focus on one or a series of legislative categories or initiatives. Be thinking about what kinds of laws, issues, or digital stakeholder groups you would enjoy working on in your content team (some teams will have several). I’ll be making the teams and assigning roles, but I will be considering your input in those decisions.
  4. Finally, when it comes to your role, your teammates, or your focus, be thinking about which of these variables you would like to have the most control over.

I’ll be publishing a Content Teams Preference Form on the Monday that we get back from break (3/18). I will ask that people complete that form by Wednesday (3/20). It will be important that you’ve already thought about these things, talked to other people, and continued to research what activity is still happening at the Capitol.

Make sure that you complete your Experiential Learning Activity, and that’s saved with the right title by the end of the day Friday, 3/8. Please reach out via DM or #help if you have questions. Keep up as much as you can on the work of the General Assembly during break so that when we get back, you’re up to speed on things. Take care and be safe.
