We will be discussing how to apply scholarship about non profit organizations and digital community to actual communities that are following.
Our reading:
Choose one chapter each from two of the books/collections shared in class.
All books will be openly available on the web or accessible through logging into the KSU library.
Our activities:
- Collaborative annotated bibliography: Prepare a citation and annotation for your chapters to add to a collaborative document. Annotations should be 150 words (give or take 50 words) and should 1) summarize the source, 2) quote from the source, and 3) apply your source to a specific community.
- Due in class during Week Four.
- WordPress: Research the history and uses of WordPress, the open source application that we will be using this semester. Learn the difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org (two different websites that use the WordPress application). Start working your way through the module titled Beginner WordPress User on wordpress.org and complete the first block of lessons (under the “Content Creation” heading).
- Due on the WordPress thread in #activities during Week Five.
