A press conference at the Georgia Captiol; image belongs to me.
Build a WordPress post that captures a group of connected interactions/observations with lawmakers, journalists, and/or stakeholders engaged in civic action. This activity is designed to be satisfied by a trip to the Georgia Capitol, but it can be completed in other ways as well.
Your experiential activity should include pictures, quotes, observations, narration, and/or social media posts that prove your engagement with state level politics and/or political action. It should include:
- Engagement with/observation of at least three lawmakers, journalists, and/or stakeholders (a total of three individuals; any combination of the three categories) that goes beyond the citation required for an analysis post;
- For example: at the Georgia State Capitol, having a conversation with a lawmaker, taking pictures and briefly interviewing people participating in a press conference or protest, documenting activity on the House or Senate floor in a way to proves your attendance at the event.
- For another example: if you aren’t able to attend a trip to the Georgia State Capitol, you can choose to engage a stakeholders, lawmakers, or journalists in another document-able way (via social media conversation, a telephone call, attending a rally or press conference, etc.).
- A narrative about your experience (300 words) in which your engagement/observation examples are part of the story; and
- Use of design elements within WordPress that make the narrative more engaging and dynamic (beyond simply paragraphs and hyperlinks).
Complete this activity alone, not in collaboration with other students. It will be due on the last day of the semester, May 4, 2026.
