Interview a classmate for 30 minutes about the intersection between their initial career interests, their career field research, and my “Introductory Concepts” presentation from Week Two. Compose a 300-400 word, three paragraph magazine interview that explores connections they are making at the beginning of the semester. Summarize and quote from sources they discuss in the interview. If you need to ask them follow up questions (for sources, quotes, more personal experience details), use email or Discord DMs. You can quote from that material as part of the interview if you’d like.
Focus your interview on your subject’s current ideas, interest, and research regarding prospective careers fields. Avoid spending too much time on biographical details that do not relate to their professional interests (dispense with any general biographical details in the first sentence).
Length: 300-400 words, three paragraphs
Citing your subject: include at least two direct quotes
Citing secondary sources: include at least two direct quotes from their research and refer to the sources using the author’s name and the title of the source as a hyperlink to the source itself.
Heading: Standard MLA heading, centered title, and blog style paragraphs (no indention, skip a line between paragraphs).
Style: Journalistic, narrative, and objective. Do not refer to yourself, and do not refer to the interview as part of their narrative.
