ENGL 1101 | Week Nine

We will spend this week researching and drafting language for the Rhetorical Analysis Essay (guidelines provided in our Week Eight post).

On Monday:

I will begin class with a reminder of several different strategies you might use when working on a rhetorical analysis: (rhetorical appeals, rhetorical “hinge” words, balanced and counter arguments, faulty claims, and invention).

We will spend class shifting our work from Phase One to Phase Two. Students will either receive approval to move on to a partial Phase Two draft for Wednesday or to draft a second Phase One document for Wednesday. Students will need to submit their next draft before class on Wednesday.

On Wednesday

UPDATE: Because I did not complete responses on the approval thread in time, we will spend Wednesday talking through ways to get approved for Phase Two for Friday. If you do not get topic approval during class today, please submit a second Phase One draft by Friday.
